Kelly Aloia

Growing up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, Kelly admired the rich community of folk musicians that surrounded her. At eleven, she began to study the lever harp with Lisa Stine in order to play the Celtic music she had grown to love.  Soon, she began to play regularly at local events, restaurants, and private parties. As her skills and repertoire grew, Kelly began classical training on the pedal harp with Laura Porter. She then attended the University of Oregon where she received her Bachelor degree in Harp Performance under the direction of Laura Zaerr. Now, with over a decade of experience, Kelly continues to perform on both lever and pedal harp in the Portland area. She teaches harp at her home studio in Beaverton and delights in sharing the joy of the harp with her students.
